Beating cancer through machine learning
Detecting cancer at an early stage has long been a focus area in healthcare. From IBM Watson to other major players, a lot of money has been spent trying to make headway in this field but with little success. When cancer is detected early, treatment is more likely to be successful. But too often, cancers are diagnosed at a late stage when they’re much harder to treat. It is clear that the application of ML methods along with whole-genome sequencing could improve the accuracy of cancer susceptibility, recurrence and survival outcomes.
